Open archive - Publications from Karolinska Institutet is an electronic archive for fulltext publications and manuscripts. The archive has been established to help researchers at KI comply with open access requirements from research funders. A support function based at the University Library is available to aid the researcher in the process of depositing articles and answer any questions on parallel publishing and open access.

What's in the archive? - collection policy

So far only theses (lic and doc) and articles are accepted in the archive.

Theses
The archive contains doctoral theses from 1995 and onward, but is more comprehensive from 2005 when electronic publication of the doctoral thesis frame was made compulsory. In 2011 electronic publication of licentiate theses was made compulsory.

Theses with abstract only are not available in the archive at the moment, but they will be searchable along with other KI publications in the future. Meanwhile you can find these theses in the old dissertation database at http://diss.kib.ki.se/.

Older theses are not available in electronic form, but can be found in the library catalogue: http://library.kib.ki.se/.

Articles
Articles can be submitted to the archive in accordance with grant funders demands and the publisher's restrictions. Articles that are already open access, e.g published in an open access journal, can also be deposited in the archive.
